  1. Aug 27,  · Björk’s Vespertine, released in August , may be the first (and last) album written for the Napster age. With her fifth studio release, and coming off the expansive, futuristic Homogenic, Björk.
  2. Nov 24,  · Björk, in the last couple of years, has become one of my favorite singers ever. Her brilliant, outstanding, thought-provoking, and genre-bending music makes me come back for more every time. While Homogenic is innovative and powerful, Vespertine sees herself at her most sexiest, vulnerable, experimenting with more ambient/lo-fi sounds instead.
  3. Aug 27,  · Editors’ Notes Sixteen years before Björk sang of “two music nerds obsessing sending each other mp3s,” the Icelandic producer created the first love album for the Napster age. She spent three years embroidering the “microbeats” behind Vespertine—flickering, sinewy sound beds comprising samples of domestic life—intending for it to sound good even at pirated bit rates.

  5. For the term used in reference to phenomena observed during the evening hours, see Vespertine (biology). Vespertine is the fourth studio album by Icelandic recording artist Björk. It was released on 27 August in the United Kingdom by One Little Indian Records and in the United States by Elektra Entertainment.
  6. Starting with 'Hidden Place', Vespertine is an extremely cohesive conceptual album which worked with melodies in the opening half, and built up with a more emotional atmosphere in the later half. 'Coccoon', 'Undo', 'Pagan Poetry', 'Aurora' & "Harm Of Will' are my personal favourites.
  7. "Cocoon" is already on Vespertine, "Amphibian" is on the Being John Malkovich soundtrack. Track two is the only thing "new", but it is based on a Vespertine song - a one minute music box version of Aurora. ONE MINUTE long, no vocals. I don't really consider it to be anything but an impressionistic interlude separating the two vocal tracks/5(11).
  8. Jun 25,  · Vespertine, released in August , is an album by the Icelandic singer/songwriter/musician Björk. It sees Björk creating an introverted, quiet world of swirling microbeats and personal lyrics. On the cover she can be seen wearing the swan dress (designed by Marjan Pejoski) that caused a stir at the Academy Awards.
